Spark AR is gooonnee!!!

Well, today’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. As a Spark AR developer, I woke up, grabbed my coffee, and checked Facebook—only to find out that Meta is pulling the plug on Spark AR! Yep, you read that right. No more building those quirky, mind-bending AR effects that people have been slapping onto their selfies since 2017.

I mean, I get it, Meta has their priorities, and apparently, we’re not on the list anymore. But seriously, finding out through a Facebook post? That’s like breaking up with someone via text! Awkward much?

On the bright side (because there’s always a bright side, right?), this might just be the perfect opportunity for new companies to step up and fill the void. Who knows? Maybe the next big AR platform is just around the corner, and we’ll all be back to building amazing effects before we know it.

So, while today’s news is a bit of a bummer, I’m keeping my chin up. The AR world is far from over—this could be the beginning of something even more exciting! 🚀
